Trifone “Tony” Indellicati of Temple City, California went to be with the Lord on August 8, 2025 at the age of 93. Tony was born on May 30, 1932 in Gioia del Colle, Italy to Nicola and Maria Indellicati. He is deeply missed by his wife, Domenica “Donna” Indellicati; children, Maria (Indellicati) and Carlos Sacchetto; and Vita Diane (Indellicati) and Scott Saddoris; grandchildren, Danielle and Christopher Williams; Michael and Megan Sacchetto; Kyle and Amanda Saddoris; and Melissa and Jeremy Conrad; and great-grandchildren, Allie and Jacob Sacchetto; Caleb Trifone, Adrienne, and Samuel Williams; and Olive and Shepard Conrad.
A follower of Christ who championed “obedience” as the secret of his success, Tony led a life of integrity, faith, and hard work. His obedience to an understanding greater than his own guided him across the world –through Brazil, Venezuela, and Mexico– to Chicago where a generous acquaintance lent him the $75 it would take to fly to California. When Tony later retold the story of his journey to America, as he often did to family around the dinner table, it was a point of pride to share that he sent $75 back to Chicago as soon as he was settled. In California, he met Domenica “Donna” Maracchione at a wedding. They were married for 68 years and together enjoyed a life of travel, cooking and sharing good food, and hosting friends for Bible studies. Tony retired at age 55 from working as a forklift operator for Smart & Final Iris, which gave him ample time to pursue his favorite hobbies: working in his yard and exercising. He knew how to grow fruit and vegetables on his land, and he found great joy in sharing his harvest with those he cared about. A bag of oranges. A handful of dried bay leaves. He especially loved coaxing the youngest members of his family to try unusual foods like persimmons, loquats, and swiss chard. “Here,” he would say. “Try it.” Those who knew Tony knew he was a strong, principled man who loved his family, enjoyed eating brightly colored food, and was obedient to the end of his life.
