Charles "Charly" Louis Griffith

Charles “Charly” Louis Griffith, age 63 of Pike Road, Alabama passed away on Wednesday, July 25, 2018. Charly was born on November 10, 1954 to Robert L. Griffith and Arleta Mollison Meeker. He is preceded in death by his fathers, Robert L. Griffith and William T. Meeker.

Charly was a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather and friend and will be dearly missed by his loving wife of 37 years, Beverly S. Griffith; son, Tyler Charles Griffith; daughter and son-in-law, Kendall Griffith Williams and Matthew; grandsons, Jackson and Noland Williams; mothers, Arleta M. Meeker and Eileene D. Griffith; siblings, Susan Taylor (Rich), Mike Meeker (Saideh), Cindee Kerns (Kacia), Lesa Keith (Al), Bobby Griffith (Cornelia), and Chuck Griffith; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Charly attended Aldersgate United Methodist Church and was a member of the Greater Montgomery Home Builders Association. He was a commercial and residential builder for over forty years. Charly retired from Russell Construction of Alabama and began Griffith Fine Homes. Through his career and lifetime he was an inspiration to many people. With his attention to fine details and outstanding quality of work, his customers were not just customers to him, they soon became his friends as he built their forever homes. Charly was always so patient and understood how to take life easy, always smiling, making everyone laugh with his witty sense of humor, and always so generous with his time helping others. He was innovative and creative towards any project he started and succeeded with his constant positive attitude. His hard work helped provide for his family by building their homes and his hobbies helped fill their freezers with wild game from hunting and fishing. Charly shared his love for the outdoors with those he loved, teaching them how to provide for themselves by sharing his love for carpentry, cooking, and wisdom. The family will receive friends at Alabama Heritage Funeral Home on Sunday, July 29, 2018 from 1:00 to 3:00 pm. Celebration of Charly’s Life will begin at 3:00 pm. Honorary pallbearers will be, Marc Kirklin, Rhett Whynott, Samuel Isbell, Daniel Sullins, Hunter Keith, Griff Keith, Garrett Prescott, and Joseph Gardner.
