Jean Reeves Cantey

Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Cantey; son, Harry Cantey; mother, Ruth Reeves and brother, Don Reeves.

She is survived by her daughter, Mickie Cantey. Also surviving her are her nephews and their families, Jimmy and Lisa Reeves, Jay and Sandy Reeves; sister-in-law, Zara Cantey Grace and beloved Cantey nieces and nephews. The devotion of a special nephew, Rich Pirsig, was especially appreciated in the past few weeks.

Jean is remembered for her strength, honesty, generous spirit, wit and her wonderful banana pudding, that was enjoyed by many. She was a faithful member of Pine Level Baptist Church.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, February 9, 2019, at Leak Memory Chapel, from 3:00pm-5:00pm.

Funeral services will be Sunday, February 10, 2019, at 1:30pm at Leak Memory Chapel. Burial will follow at The Tompkins Cemetery in Shopto, Alabama.

Pallbearers will be Jimmy Reeves, Jay Reeves, Tim Cantey, W.D. Cantey, Jr.,Rich Pirsig, Marty Trawick, David Abernathy, Rob Abernathy and Beau Yarborough.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Pine Level Baptist Church, P.O. Box 5, Pine Level, Alabama 36069, or to one’s favorite charity.
