I worked with Josh at the New York Foundling for a little over a year. We worked close together on his cases and Josh went above and beyond helping the youth and families. Connecting with clients and supporting them came natural to Josh and it was truly wonderful to watch the positive impact he made in his clients lives. As a colleague in some difficult times Josh was always there to put a smile on your face and always supported his teammates. It truly saddens me to hear of his passing and will miss him. May you rest in peace and sending all my love to the Kuszel family during this difficult time.

Dear Aunt Judy, Lynn, Rubin, Gabriella, and Benjamin,

We are without words to adequately express our sadness and condolences on the loss of your grandson, son, brother, and our dear cousin. It pains us deeply to write about Josh in the past tense. Josh was consistently the energy in a room and had a magnetism about him that allowed him to never know a stranger nor to be exclusionary with anyone around him. He regularly spoke of his sister and brother with a smile on his face and with pride in his heart.

We love you all and will cherish the too short time that we had with Josh z’’l.

With love,
Alana, Steven, Zev, and Sasha Green

I worked with Josh for about a year and he was a comforting person to me and the rest of the Queens team. His humor and friendly personality helped to get our days going. I remember working in a different office for a period of time and he came to that location to see a client. I screamed, "Josh!" I ran to hug him like my long lost brother. His friendship crossed barriers of race and cultures. I will miss him! I send sincere condolences to his family. He will be greatly missed!

I worked with Josh for about a year from 2018-2019. I came in as a new worker and was very nervous about starting this new job and he was always so nice and helpful. He always offered to help me and was able to answer all the questions. He was always ready for any task that came his way. He was always able to cheer me up when I had a hard day. He was part of the queens team family and I will truly miss him. I will always remember the laughs we shared. May you rest in peace and sending all my love to the Kuszel family during this difficult time.

I worked with Josh for almost a year from 2018-2019. We were the "dream team" and he was an amazing partner to work with helping out therapeutic foster kids/teens. When we had difficult cases, we'd always work together to solve it. When I didn't feel safe, he had my back. When I had a hard day, he was there with the memes and gifs to cheer me up. From our coffee runs, to calling out sick to go to the movies, to Friendsgiving, to grabbing pizza in between visits, to him helping me grocery shop after a visit, to late night crises and long work car rides, one thing I know is that Josh was always there with a smile and ready to tackle anything that came our way. He wasn't just a coworker but became a friend as well. We had a lot of plans that were left undone, such as going to a Yankees game. Tomorrow baseball comes back so I will watch a game with memory of you, Josh. My heart hurts and I'm still in disbelief. I'm saddened by how we ended up and that I wasn't able to be there at the end. However, I will continue to remember our fun memories and laughs. May you rest in peace and sending all my love to the Kuszel family during this difficult time.

Josh was a loyal friend and kind individual. I met Josh in the Fall of 2006 at GW when I pledged Phi Sigma Kappa. Although he was older than me, he treated me as an equal from day one. After I became a brother at the fraternity, we developed a solid friendship that was grounded on mutual respect and an admiration for all of the same sports teams. Josh took me to a Rangers/Islanders game in either 2010 or 2011; I had only been to the Garden to see the Rangers live one other time in my life prior to that. We had an awesome time and spent most of the day together sharing stories and enjoying the game. I will cherish moments like those forever and will always view Josh with fondness. My heart goes out to the Kuszel family and thank you for raising such a good son who you shared with countless friends like me.

Dear Kuszel Family,
We were so sad to hear about Josh's passing. Aside from remembering him as a child in elementary school, we think back a few years ago when he was working at Dick's Sporting Goods. We so enjoyed talking with him when he helped us with a purchase and were impressed at the young man he had become.

Our hearts are with you at this time.

Mr. & Mrs. Kuszel,
I was heartbroken to learn of your son’s passing. Like all his friends at GW and especially those of us in Phi Sigma Kappa, I remember Josh’s kind and friendly nature, his generosity, and how he treated his friends like family. Josh was quick to invite you anywhere, and I had the pleasure to stay at your home in 2006. The highlight of the trip for me was the unforgettable family dinner we shared at Peter Luger’s with Josh’s grandparents. Everyone remembers Josh’s exuberance and passion, and I can’t forget what a loving brother Josh was to his younger siblings. We’re all fortunate he touched our lives in some way.

Dear Kuszel Family,

I am shocked to hear about Josh's passing. We went to school together K-8, and haven't seen each other in many many years, since I moved to Brazil. But my closest memories of Josh are from camp -- we went to Westchester Summer Day together a few years and grew from campers to counselors in training. I remember those summers fondly, and how Josh was always in a good mood, and, with great humor and a kind heart, always made everyone feel so well around him. He was such great company!

I am very, truly sorry for your loss, and hope your hearts may be somehow comforted by his memories, his smiles and his words.
