Rita J. (Stierstaedter) Ricke, 93, died Saturday May 30, 2020, with her family at her side. She was born January 11, 1927 in New Albany to the late Theodore and Ida (Craig) Stierstaedter. Rita was the widow of Leo Ricke and was a wonderful wife, homemaker, mom, grandma and aunt. Rita was preceded in death by her parents, a sibling, Teddy, and was member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church. She will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by her family and friends.
Survivors include a daughter, Kathy Kidd (Greg) and son, Jeff Ricke; two grandchildren, Stephanie and Shawn Ricke and two great-grandchildren, Destiny Amig, and Shelby Ford; a nephew, Greg Schuler (Barbara) and great nieces, Megan and Maureen.
Visitation: 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm Friday June 5, 2020 and after 9:00 am Saturday June 6, 2020 at Kraft Funeral Service, 708 E. Spring St. Her Funeral Liturgy will be Celebrated 10:00 am Saturday June 6, 2020, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church with burial to follow at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery New Albany.
