Born in Mingo County West Virginia on April 20th, 1942; Simon grew up wading thru the mangroves of Tarpon Springs, Florida and was married to high-school sweetheart, Judy, for 58 years.
Serving 21 years in the United States Army, Simon was awarded a Purple Heart for his combat related injuries during the Vietnam War and retired at the rank of First Sergeant.
His time in the service fueled a passion for travel and adventure, spending time in the Alaskan Wilderness panning for gold.
Simon's greatest joy was family, who have drawn together to grieve the loss of our Patriarch, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and Hero to us all.
He is missed dearly by his wife, Judith Eileen (Toms) Children: George (Dennis Robards), Sherri Carr (Joseph), Melony Gingery (Michael), and Brian (Sabrina); 5 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren
