
Earl Wayne Cox, born June 14, 1946, died August 16, 2017 in Fort Myers Florida surrounded by his loving family at the age of 71. Earl was born in Mt. Vernon Illinois, the son of Albert Elighue Cox and Mildred Lucille Davis. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Albert Lee. He is survived by his beloved wife Judy, son David and Sister Wilma. Earl was a veteran of the United States Army who served from 1966 to 1968. He served in Vietnam earning the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal and the Vietnam Campaign Medal w/ 60 Device. Earl began working for United Parcel Service in 1968 as a package car driver and moved into management in 1974. Earl was a Labor Relations Manager in Chicago when he retired from UPS after 33 years in 2001. Earl married Judy Greve of Decatur IL, in 1969. They have one son, David, who was born in 1976. Earl was an outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing and riding recreational vehicles. His furry companion Ozzy was never far from him. A viewing will be held at the National Cremation and Burial Society, 3453 Hancock Bridge Pkwy, N. Ft. Myers, FL 33903 on Sunday, August 20, 2017 from 10:00am till 11:00am with Military Honors beginning at 11:00am. A gathering of family and friends will immediately follow with a lite fare luncheon.
