Robert Scott was born in Port Arthur, Ontario, which in 1970 was amalgamated along with Fort William and two other townships to form the city of Thunder Bay. Robert passed away at his home in North Vancouver on the morning of June 3, 2023, at the age of 93.
Robert, formerly a lawyer, head of the Alberta Securities Commission and president of the Vancouver Stock Exchange, enjoyed skiing and hiking, was a voracious reader and classical music aficionado, and in his later years developed a keen interest in astronomy and space flight. He had many interesting tales to tell about his outdoor adventures, from his time as a ski patrol member in his youth to hiking the trails of the North Shore into his early eighties.
Robert was predeceased by his brother George and wife Estelle, and is lovingly remembered by his sister Janice, children Andrew and Ian, grandchildren Neil, David and Lauren, and other family members and friends. He was particularly happy to meet and spend time with his first great-grandchild Sophie in the summer of 2022.
