Arline June Grate

Arline June Grate, 79, of Spring Hill, Kansas had her faith rewarded and was welcomed into heaven by her Savior on Saturday, January 18, 2014. Airline was born on July 29, 1934 in Los Angeles, California the daughter of John C. and Lena Mason. Most of her life was spent as a homemaker and raising her four boys, and later spending time with and helping to raise her six grandchildren. She also was a forty year member of Evangelistic Center Church in Olathe, Kansas and taught Sunday school for many years. Arline enjoyed fishing and cooking but most of all reading her bible and spending time with the Lord.

Arline is preceded in death by her parents John and Lena Mason, loving husband of 39 years William Dean Grate and her sister Jane Banner. She is survived by her four sons: Kenneth D. Gentry of Kansas City, Missouri, Dennis W. Gentry and his wife Cara of Keller Texas, David W. Grate and his wife Charlotte of Spring Hill, Kansas and Daniel M. Grate and his wife Sara K. of Paola, Kansas. Left behind to cherish her memory are her six grandchildren: Kara Gentry, Wyatt Gentry, Jessica Grate, Austin Grate, William Grate and Matthew Grate along with her beloved church family of Evangelistic Center Church. Airline is also survived by her brother John Mason of Independence, Missouri.

She will be missed by everyone who knew her.

Funeral services will be Wednesday morning at 11:00 a.m. January 22, 2014 at the McGilley & Frye Funeral Home 105 East Loula Street Olathe, Kansas. Interment in Spring Hill Cemetery 799 West Lawrence Street Spring Hill, Kansas. Visitation will be Tuesday evening January 20, 2014 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions made be made to: Evangelistic Center Church- 704 East Loula Street, Olathe, Kansas or City Union Mission - 1100 East 11th Street Kansas City, Missouri.
