Menghisteab W. Habtezion, 67, of Overland Park, Kansas, passed away January 16, 2020. Funeral Service will be 1:00 pm on Friday, January 24th at the McGilley & Hoge Johnson County Memorial Chapel, 8024 Santa Fe Drive, Overland Park, Kansas. Burial in Forest Hill Cemetery, Kansas City, Missouri.
Mengisteab was born on September 25, 1952 in Ethiopia and was raised in Eritrea, Asmira. He came to the United States in 1997. He met and fell in love with Joann Boyd and they have shared 18 beautiful years together. Mengisteab was a wonderful step-father to Joann's three children and a step-grandfather to her seven grandchildren. He loved them all dearly. He was employed by the Hyatt for 22 years and he considered them his second family.
Menghisteab leaves behind the love of his life, Joann Boyd, of the home; step-daughter, Michelle Campbell (Stacey), Centennial, Colorado; step-son, Cornell Ragland, North Kansas City, Missouri; step-son, Cedric Boyd (Alexis), Cypress, Texas and seven step-grandchildren.
