

Liborio (Lee) Meneses died on December 11, 2017 in Orlando, FL at the age of 71. Lee was born in Manilla, Philippines in 1946 and emigrated to the US due to his father’s VA office transfer. He lived in Colorado Springs, Colorado, and eventually settled in Woodland Hills, California. In 1965, he graduated from Valley State College, now California State University Northridge (CSUN) and the US Air Force ROTC at the University of Southern California (USC).
After earning his Air Force navigator wings in 1970, Lee flew C-130 military transport aircraft in Vietnam. He continued to serve in the Air Force reserves until 1989, and retired as Lieutenant Colonel. In 1977, he began his 25 year career at State Farm Insurance Company, where he moved to Bloomington, IL, and later relocated with his family to Orlando, FL in 1991. He retired from State Farm in 2007 as supervisor of insurance claim adjuster.
During a trip to Spain, Lee met the “Sunshine of his Life”, his beloved wife of 43 years Zulma, whom he married after a whirlwind 18 month courtship. He is also survived by his three children Liborio (Lee), Samuel (Sammy), and Alexander (Alex), daughters-in-law Megan and Shelly, and granddaughter Emilia.
Lee enjoyed traveling the world via cruises and airplane, taking culinary expeditions, and making his family and friends laugh until they cried. He also served as a dedicated volunteer of 13 years with the Mended Hearts organization, where he served as chapter treasurer, vice president, president, and his most rewarding and treasured role of hospital visitor, where he provided inspiration, compassion, and education to heart patients and their families.
A celebration of life for family and friends is scheduled on Wednesday, December 20th , 2017 at 5-7 p.m. at the National Cremation & Burial Society 7565 Red Bug Lake Road, Oviedo, FL 32765. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mended Hearts Chapter 296 via mendedheartsorlando.org.
