Lois M Brown

Born August 21, 1925 in Peoria to Harry Ellsworth and Viola Elizabeth (Gomes) Marshall, she married Hubert Brown on February 16, 1946 in Peoria.  He died August 22, 2002 in Peoria.  She also was preceded in death by one son-in-law, Gene Wittrig and three sisters.

Surviving are four daughters, Patricia Wittrig of Hopedale, Nora (Floyd) Nelson of Buna, Texas, Roberta (Linton) Chism of South Pekin and Sandra (Ronald) Taylor of Mackinaw; eleven grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren and one on the way; three great-great grandchildren and one on the way; and one sister, Mildred Schwartz of Pekin.

She was a member of Liberty Baptist Church in Pekin.  She was a former member of the Bethel Mennonite Church in rural Pekin.

A homemaker, Lois also worked as a checker for Kroger for five years.

She enjoyed woodcarving, painting and fishing.

Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 1, 2012 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.  The Rev. Dr. Tim Najpaver will officiate.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral at the funeral home.  Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery in Pekin.
