Walter Donald Mandula

1938-2021

Peacefully, passed away on Wednesday, August 4, 2021 at the Peterborough Regional Health Centre. Loving Husband to Kathy for 62 years. Proud father to Bill (Lisa) and Julie (Randy). Adored Papa of Stacey, Corey, Taylor and Brady. Predeceased by his parents John and Annie, and his sisters Elsie (late Mike), Mary (late Mike) and brothers John (late Lena) and Melvin. He will be missed by longtime friends from Hamilton and the Kawarthas.

After several small businesses in Hamilton, Walt and his family bought Theona Park and moved to Ennismore. Together they ran and built the business for 35 years.

Walt was an extremely hard worker, no job was too big or too small. His drive, was for doing a job well, and constantly improving what he had. His hobby was work, his reward was the results of his work. There was nothing he could not do. His work ethic and discipline made him a very successful businessman.

He loved the trailer park and all the variety of work it offered, and the residents of Theona, whom he loved teasing and having conversation with. He will truly be missed there.

Everything Walt did was for his family. He wanted to make sure they were taken care of, and learned good work ethics. He just wanted simple things for himself. He will be remembered as a man who could not be out worked or out smarted. Common sense was his gift.

A private family service will be held at a later date. The family wish to thank the nurses and staff at PRHC and all who have helped during this difficult time. In memory of Walt, donations to Parkinson Canada and the Alzheimer Society of Canada.
