Lil’ Bit, as she was affectionately referred to by her late father-in-law, was a true Austinite born in Austin on September 13, 1963. She graduated from Texas State University with a BS in Criminal Justice and then received a Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Texas at Austin. Kristi worked for the State of Texas for over 25 years until she retired to pursue other interests.
Kristi began a beautiful love affair with Gary Guilbeaux over 16 years ago and they were married on November 29, 2006 in St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands.
She had the most beautiful smile and was loved by many that described her as spirited, strong, independent, positive, radiant, warm, intelligent and caring. She was a member of the Lord of Life Lutheran Church and had a special love for furry animals. Before her illness progressed, she enjoyed bicycling, exercise, getting together with family and friends, and dancing all night long.
In addition to her husband Gary, she is survived by step-daughters Lauren Guilbeaux and Sarah, Megan Guilbeaux, her furry children Oz, Ziggy, Lexie, and Marina, parents Morris and Effie Kostoff, mother-in-law Olivia and Bay (Deceased) Guilbeaux, siblings Sherrie Hafner and Marc, Matt Kostoff and Rosemary, Terrie Kostoff and David Williams, and Mark Kostoff and Heather, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Her beloved pet Willow passed away a year ago.
A memorial service celebrating Kristi's life will be at 4:00 p.m., Monday, March 18, 2019 at the Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home in Pflugerville, Texas.
