Columbus, Georgia - Evelyn Morgan Clegg, 88, of Columbus, Georgia died peacefully surrounded by her family on Monday, October 31, 2022.
Visitation for family and friends will be Thursday November 3, 2022 from 12:30pm – 2:00pm at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 3770 Highway 431 North, Phenix City, Alabama 36867. Following the visitation for family and friends will be a celebration of life graveside service at 2:00 PM at Lakeview Memory Gardens, 3800 Hwy 431 North, Phenix City, Alabama.
Ms. Clegg was born July 28, 1934 in Columbus, Georgia. She is the daughter of the late Jesse T. and Magaline Morgan. She graduated from Jordan High School in 1951 and worked for Flournoy and Calhoun Realtors where she was a Bookkeeper for 47 years.
Without a doubt, Evelyn lived a life she enjoyed. She was a member of St. Mark’s United Methodist in Columbus, Georgia and enjoyed fellowship with her church family. She was a devoted and caring mother, grandmother, Great-Grandmother, and Great-Great-Grandmother. The heartfelt love she had for her family and friends was easily seen in many ways. She will always be remembered for her sweet smile and her devotion to her family.
Ms. Clegg was preceded in death by her parents, Her beloved Husband William Clegg, her daughter, Billie Anne Clegg, and her granddaughter Shena Waldrup.
Survivors include her children, Carolyn Ligon, and Cathy Pendleton. Her Grandchildren Brandon Hutchins, Jennifer Pendleton, Stephen Pendleton, Jeremy Ligon, and Michelle Pendleton. Her Great-Grandchildren Gavin Hutchins, Haley Hutchins, Greyson Hutchins, and Alexandria Pendleton. Her Great-Great-Grandchildren Aiden Hutchins, Alston Hutchins, Amarian Hutchins, Aria Hutchins, Gabby Hutchins, and Grace Hutchins.
