Oh my!  I'm so sorry to hear about the passing of your father...such an extraordinary man!  I recall the flea market runs and Sunday dinners with great joy.  I'm sure my dad has already recruited Big Al for some heavenly mischief. You are al in my thoughts and prayers.  Much love to all of you...

I'm so sorry for your loss.  I had met Al during the Reunion of Honor trip to Iwo Jima in 2005, and saw him again a few years later at the USMC Museum in Quantico.  I really enjoyed talking with him.  How symbolic for him to pass away during the 70th Anniversary of that great battle!

Our heartfelt sympathy goes out to Angel, Lisa, Donny and all of the family members.  We will always have fond memories of "Big Al" and we will miss him, but those memories will last forever... Big Al was  the kindest man ever,soft spoken,gentle,big hearted. May he rest in peace with the Lord.I will always cherish our younger times in P.R.with the family.

One of  my favorite people, along with Jimmy, his brother.  The two of them spoiled me to no end growing up.  I was the girl who lived in the country and visited the city (the Bronx) in the summer.  I visited my Aunt Angelina and my Ucle Dominic, who by the way taught me how to swim.  I had the best summers ever with my cousin Mary watching out for me and making sure I was entertained by her great friends that I loved meeting.  Al was a man I respected and adored. He being an ex-Marine made me feel proud, along with others around him.  Between him and Jimmy I don't know who told the best stories.  I loved being in their company.  Mary, Al's wife was a dear friend of mine.  When Sal and I visited them in Puerto Rico we had so, so much fun. Mary and I laughed all the time, whether it was in her kitchen or at the casinos.  I never saw Al lose his temper.  He was always cool in more ways than one.  Although we have lost touch over the years somewhat, we were able to make a few visits these past few years as his health slowly deteriorated.  Now, he is at rest.  No more pain.  Mary awaits and without a doubt my Aunt Angelina has set a table and a place for him as they wait for his coming home.  What a celebration that will be.  My family who has gone before him will surely be part of the big party Azia is planning.  Rest in peace my cousin, until we meet again.  We love you.
