Robbie Gregory, age 93, passed away on Wednesday, March 7, 2018 at Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo. She was born March 14, 1924 to Rodger McWhirter and Ina Gilmer McWhirter. She was the oldest member of Friendship Baptist Church and retired from Rivera Shirt Factory. She owned Robbie’s Sewing Basket for many years and enjoyed sewing, cooking and canning, traveling, flower gardening, mowing her yard and was an avid MSU fan.
Services will be at 11:00 AM Friday, March 9, 2018 at Friendship Baptist Church with Rev. Brock McWhirter officiating; burial will follow in the Ecru Cemetery. Browning Funeral Home in Pontotoc is honored to assist the family with the arrangements.
Survivors include her daughter, Peggy Garrett; a sister, Ann Roye; a brother, Nickey McWhirter and wife Carolyn; a daughter-in-law, Nancy Gregory; three grandchildren, Shan Garrett Henderson, and husband Brad, Scott Garrett and John David Gregory; six great-grandchildren, Shaw Gregory, McKenzie Gregory, Jacob Garrett, Maggie Garrett, McKenzie Garrett and Anna Garrett Henderson.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Fred Gregory; a son, Danny Gregory; a son-in-law, Michael Ray Garrett and three brothers, Pete McWhirter, Joe McWhirter and Howard Max McWhirter.
Pallbearers will be Scott Garrett, John David Gregory, Jacob Garrett, Brad Henderson, Dr. Randy McWhirter and Russ Thomas.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 PM Thursday and from 10 to 11 AM Friday, all at Friendship Baptist Church.
