Julie was born to Betty and Daniel Lutz in Port Angeles Washington on May 27th 1958. She was the 3rd of 4 children. The family eventually settled in Chico, CA. Julie Graduated from Chico Senior High School in 1976. In early 1982 she met Franklin Lee Arnett who had two children of his own, Christopher Lee and Carrie Anne Arnett, and the two were married in 1985 in Reno Nevada. Franklin passed away in 1986 and Julie became the legal guardian of his children at the age of 27. In 1990 she met Franklin Groshong, the love of her life, and the two were married in Chico, CA on March 23rd 1991. There were getting ready to celebrate their 30th wedding anniversary. Together with Frank, Julie raised Chris and Carrie and provided them with unconditional love and support throughout her life. She was a loving grandmother to her only grandson Aaron Gianni Young, and spent as much time with him as possible. Julie spent most of her professional career in retail and worked over 20 years for the Target Corporation. She retired in 2016.
Julie had many interests in her life. She loved listening to music, often at high volumes! She loved many different types of music but above all her favorite was rock and roll and she loved Bad company and the Beatles. When she wasn’t busy at work, she loved to read, do home improvement projects, work in her backyard garden, and shop with friends and family, often for gifts for others as she was very generous. Giving to others was one of the ways that she showed her love. Above all, Julie loved spending time with family members. She would always let you know when she was thinking of you by sending a message or checking in with a call. Julie had a young-at-heart spirit and she will be remembered for her kindness and jovial laugh. She was loved by many and will be deeply missed.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Betty and Dan Lutz. She is survived by her husband Franklin Groshong, her children Chris and Carrie Arnett, her grandson Aaron Gianni Young, as well as her sisters and brother Claudia Enns, Leslie Plourde, Daniel Lutz and several nieces and nephews.
Due to the pandemic, there will not be an immediate service for Julie, however the family will announce plans for one as soon as people can gather publicly again. Flowers or donations can be sent to 3304 Shasta Damn Blvd Space 147, Shasta Lake 96019. The family would like to thank Lawn Crest Chapel in Redding, CA and the Chico Cemetery.
