

Willard Keith Bailey, 64, died of cardiac arrest on Sunday morning, March 11 at home. Fueled by passions for history and education, Keith was a Lead Gallery Associate at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts. He also worked part-time as a Gallery Associate at the Science Museum of Virginia. He loved reading, watching the New England Patriots, and spending time with nieces and nephews.
Keith was born August 31,1953, in Prince George, Virginia, the son of George W. and Treva Bailey. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in History and Mathematics at Virginia Commonwealth University, and taught mathematics at Meadowbrook High School before his career in museums.
He married his beloved Elizabeth Anne Day on October 26, 2002 in Fredericktown, Ohio. He is survived by Elizabeth, her sister and
brother-ln-law Mary Day Miller and Thomas E. Miller III of Westford, Massachusetts, their children, Rae Miller and Anna Miller Balfour, and his mother-in-law Rosemary Day of North Chesterfield, for whom he was a devoted caregiver.
Keith was an avid movie fan with encyclopedic knowledge. He was a people person who thrived on discussions of history, literature, and current events, often with his trademark deadpan humor. He also enjoyed travel, especially trips to the Outer Banks, Bermuda, Nova Scotia, and Maine.
A funeral will be held at a later date.
Memorial donations may be made to the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts and the Science Museum of Virginia.
