Zachary Wilson Tinnell, born May 6, 1987, passed into his spiritual home from his residence in Phelan, CA on November 24, 2019. He was 32 years old. Zach is remembered by many for his open, generous heart and his passion for helping those less fortunate. He founded and operated the non-profit organization Fed Up to feed and spread hope to the homeless of Southern California. At the time of his passing, Zach worked as an executive chef in a rehabilitation facility, where he offered encouragement as well as nutrition to everyone around his table. He believed deeply that healthy, lovingly created food nourished the mind as well as the body. Zach had a lifelong passion for animals, surfing, riding dirt bikes, and music.
Zach is survived by his father and stepmother, William Sr. and Jaqueline Tinnell, his brother, William Tinnell Jr. (Lorianne Emler-Tinnell), two stepbrothers, Matthew and Nicolas West, his loving partner, Kailey, his son, Bodhi, and his nephew Christopher. He is dearly loved and missed by his family and many friends. Zach is welcomed into heaven by his brother, sister, and mother.
A memorial service for Zach is to be held on February 8, 2020 at 10:30 am at the Orange County First Assembly of God, 1440 E Santa Clara, Santa Ana, CA. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that any wishing to honor Zach donate to one of the following charities: Martha’s Kitchen, The Human Investment Project, or Good Karma Bikes. Each of these organizations contributes to helping homeless and low-income individuals and families, a cause that was near and dear to Zach’s immeasurably kind heart.
