Florence L. Shears

Florence L. Shears, 90, of Belvidere passed away Friday September 10, 2021 at East Bank Center in Loves Park. Florence was born on February 22, 1931 in Seward, IL, daughter of James and Luella (Johnson) Brown. She married Willard J. Shears on September 21, 1990 and he preceded her in death on August 8, 2016. Florence attended First Church of the Nazarene and loved working on genealogy. Florence enjoyed her trips to Dollywood, her day lilies and being around her family. She is survived by her children: Linda (Tom) Vojtech, Jay (Dayna) Willfong and Jacki (Michael) Moss; 6 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sisters Margaret Isabell and Martha Stanford. A graveside service to celebrate Florence life will be 2:00 PM Wednesday September 15, 2021 at Willwood Cemetery 7000 West State Street in Rockford.

Dear Jackie and All of the Family,
Flo was always so sweet! Every time I saw her she acted like I was just the person she wanted to see. It was fun to share photos with her. Flo was a great example of staying sweet even when life isn’t. We sometimes spoke of the day she would again be able to find her words and how wonderful that would be. She is at that place now - words are coming easily to her today! We prayed together for her family. How she loved you!
