11 SEP 1935 - 22 MAY 2016
It is with deepest sorrow for our earthly loss and with joy in the assurance of his eternal home, that we announce the passing of William "Bill" Shuman. He leaves behind his precious wife of 59 years, Patricia (Upson) Shuman who treasures the wonderful life and memories they've shared together.
Also remaining are their children, William Craig Shuman (Ruth), Tamela Anne Loucel (Frank), Teresa Lynne Smith (Brad), Kirk Darren Shuman Sr. (Hiedi), fourteen grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Bill was born in Nanty Glo, PA to Mr. and Mrs. Clair and Ila (Adams) Shuman. He was their third child and was preceded in death by sisters Norma Shuman Thorne (Bud), and Myrna Shuman. Remaining is his younger sister Sandra Shuman Anderson (Edward). Bill often referred to his brother-in-law Ed as "his brother". Bill also leaves behind many cousins, nieces and nephews whom he loved and cherished.
Bill's working career started in Daytona Beach as a lineman's helper for Florida Power and Light Company. Through many promotions with the company, he moved his family to St. Augustine, Boynton Beach and finally Melbourne. At the time of his retirement in 1993, he held the title of Superintendent of Melbourne for FP&L.
In addition to their home in Melbourne, Bill and Pat had a cabin in the mountains of NC which they enjoyed year round creating wonderful memories for friends and family.
Bill was very interested in end-time prophesy from God's word and shared his interest in scripture with his wife and family. He loved the Lord and we rejoice that he is now present with his heavenly father.
John 14: 1-6
"Let not your heart be troubled; believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father’s house are many dwelling places; if it were not so, I would have told you; for I go to prepare a place for you. If I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself, that where I am, there you may be also. And you know the way that I am going. . . .I am the way, and the truth, and the life no one comes to the Father but through Me."
