March 9, 1955 - March 30, 2025
Family and friends had just celebrated Karen's 70th birthday with a much-appreciated party organized by Daniella.
Her sons, Matthew and DJ, were her world. As adults, they value the life lessons she taught them. Most importantly, little acts like opening the door for others, saying please and thank you, and respecting others matter. They knew her as a strong, hardworking mom who did her best to provide for them.
With her marriage to Dan in October of 1994, her family grew to include five daughters: Mechelle, Lisa, Judith Renee, Janet, and Daniella. She was delighted. In time, she was blessed with an abundance of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. Her heart was whole; she loved every one of them. You can imagine what her birthday calendar, Lisa, had made for her looked like.
In March 2016, she was diagnosed with lung cancer. Life was tough, but with the care of Dan, her husband, and Kelsie, whom she called her angel, the love of her family and friends, mountains of books, her pups, Gabby and Lucca, Friday night auctions, and episodes of Survivor, she surprised us all with her strength.
Karen was a much-loved mother, wife, sister, grandmother, auntie, daughter, and best friend.
We will all miss her so much.
