Gilbert “Gil” A. Weatherly, 89, of Salisbury passed away Tuesday, April 27, 2021 at his home. Born October 7, 1931 he was the son of the late Lillian Wright and Samuel Weatherly and was preceded in death by six sisters.

Gil was a United States Army Veteran serving in the Korean War and earning a Purple Heart. His greatest love was his family and spending time with his grandchildren, going to their sporting events, playing dominos and the harmonica, and enjoying singing gospel and country music.

He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Joyce Weatherly; three children, Gregory Weatherly, Robin George, and Sherri Mills and her husband Matt; PopPop to, Garrett (Rachel), McKenzie, Ryan, Savanna, Ross, Hunter, and Brant; great-PopPop to, Culver and Caleb; and several nieces and nephews.

A private family service will be held.
