Elva C. Rodriguez

A Rosary will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 15, 2014 at Johnson’s Funeral Home Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the Sacred Heart Cathedral at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 16, 2014 with burial to follow at Belvedere Memorial Park.

Elva was born to Jose Ybarra Cervantez and Esperanza Sifuentes Cervantez. Elva worked at Ethicon for many years. She retired from working there and spent the rest of her time enjoying her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Elva was preceded in death by her husband Henry Rodriguez, her father Jose Cervantez, her mother Esperanza Cervantez and her brother Reynaldo Cervantez.

Her family included her children: Liz Stafford (husband Bob Stafford), Joe Rodriguez, Debbie Rodriguez, and Birdie Lopez (husband Jaime Lopez); her grandchildren: Donna and Stephen Bailey, Jennifer Gibson and David Sharp, JoeHenry Rodriguez and Samantha Rodriguez, Justin and Tammy Gibson, James and Navita Lopez, Samantha Gibson and Benjamin Stafford; great-grandchildren: Calista Gibson, Kailyn Gibson, Sebastian Rodriguez and Jenson Rodriguez; sisters: Emma Dominguez (husband Daniel Dominguez), Enedina Martinez (husband Ruben Martinez), and Elvira Cervantez; brothers: Efrian Cervantez (wife Mary Helen Cervantez), and Elias Cervantez (Terrie Rivera); plus numerous other family members.

Pallbearers will be Jaime Lopez, James Lopez, Ruben Martinez, Efrian Cervantez, Ronnie Trevino and Benjamin Esquivel.
