Virginia Alma Lee Palms, born December 1, 1940 in Akron, Ohio, passed away on April 28, 2020 at the age of 79. Virginia Palms received her Certificate of Baptism from St. Ashworth Temple (Church of God in Christ) Akron, Ohio and has been a saint of God throughout her living days. She was also an Evangelist at the church she attended preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ as well as singing in the choir. Virginia Palms received her High School Diploma from “South High School” Minneapolis, MN June 13, 1958. Being told she was a “Wild Child” from her late mother Alzona Bradford, she was outgoing and adventurous, never stayed place anywhere, always on the move until, where she retired from work in the City of Toledo Sewers Department as a “Payroll Clerk” for (10 years) and moved to San Antonio, TX to be with son, Adonys Carmona, Jr. January 2012.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Arthur Lee Smedley and Alzona Bradford; son, Delrico Carmon, Sr.; brother, John Smedley; sisters, Mattie Mosley and Earnestine Brown.
Virginia is survived by her son, Adonys Carmona, Jr. (Imelda); daughter-in-law, Kenyatta Carmona; grandchildren, Ashante Marie Leggett (James), Miraya Anise Carmona, Adonys Carmona, III, Jada Danyel Carmona, Chelaree Carmona, Aleyah Carmona, Delrico Carmona, Jr.; great-grandchildren, Dareeque Juilz and Jularee Carmona.
Visitation will be held at Sunset Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 6, 2020 from 9:30 to 12:00 pm, with a funeral service to begin at 12:00 pm. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park.
