After graduating from San Diego High School, he served in the Army reserves before spending his career in the lumber industry.
In retirement, he was an avid golfer and part of the San Diego County Sheriff Volunteers in Santee.
Preceded in death by his daughter, Laura J. Morefield. Chuck is survived by his wife Sally and four sons, Dale, Dennis, Darrell and Dean; two daughters, Pamela Brant and Marian Knapp; 10 grandchildren and 8 1/2 great-grandchildren.
A private memorial is planned. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to the American Cancer Society.
