Dr. William W. Johnson, 77, of Dunwoody, died January 9, 2017. A life long resident of Atlanta, Dr. Johnson received his Bachelor's Degree from Emory University, Master’s Degree from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and Doctoral degree from the University of Kentucky. A retired Associate Professor of Modern Languages at Georgia Tech, he was a respected educator beloved by Tech students for over 30 years. Among his proudest achievements were the recognition awards he received from his students. Dr. Johnson was preceded in death by his father, Dr. McClaren Johnson, his mother, Helen Fennel and, his brother, Dr. McClaren Johnson, Jr. He is survived by his nieces, Dr. Mary Helen Johnson Marble and Dr. Susan Hollis Johnson. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the charity of your choice. Funeral services will be Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at 10 o’clock at H.M. Patterson and Son, Arlington Chapel, 173 Allen Rd., NE, Sandy Springs, GA 30328. Interment will follow at Westview Cemetery.
