It is with great sadness to announce the passing of our devoted husband, dad, grampa, and great-grampa. Frank passed away peacefully at Stensrud Lodge Care Home with his family by his side. He leaves behind his sons, Alan (Ann), Nigel (Jan), Melvin (Linda), Dwayne (Heather); and his daughter, Sandra (Kevin) McCutcheon; thirteen grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Doris and Pat. He was predeceased by his wife Joan and his son Gerald. He will also be lovingly remembered by extended family and friends. Frank was born in Audley, England. In 1943-1947 he served in the British Navy, where he met his best friend and love of his life for 60 years, Joan Downing. April 19, 1947 they were married and had 5 boys and 1 girl. In October 1964, Frank and his wife Joan along with their children boarded the ship in Liverpool, England to make a new home in Saskatoon. He worked as a butcher for over 30 years at Intercontinental Packers and Chef Ready Meats. Frank and Joan loved to travel and in 1994 they moved to Powell River, B.C for 7 years. In 2001 they moved back to Saskatoon to be close to their family. Frank had a great talent and love for singing. He sung Bass in the Chimo Chordsman, Barbershop of Saskatoon. He also loved wood working and built many treasures. He will be deeply missed and remembered by all that loved him and shared his life. According to Frank’s wishes he was cremated and a private family service will take place in his memory.
