She was born to Oswaldo and Victoria La Beet on January 4, 1922 in New Orleans, Louisiana. Elvy was the second of their four children and the only daughter. She was predeceased by her three brothers, Francois, Clinton and Octave LaBeet.
She attended the Lydia S Wadleigh H.S. in New York City.
Elvy was employed for 25 years as an emergency elevator operator for the New York City Health and Hospital Corporation, Bronx Municipal Hospital Center. During her tenure she was a shop steward with the City of New York District Council 37.
Elvy was united in holy matrimony to Bertram Emmanuel Daniels on July 24, 1943. She was predeceased by her husband.
Elvy leaves behind: two daughters, Stephanie L Harley of Bradenton, Florida and Elizabeth Ann Bascome of Parkchester, New York; five granddaughters, Erinn Harley Lewis of Vienna, Virginia, Dr. Jennifer Harley of White Plains, New York, Marie Harley Doughty of Alexandria, Virginia, Jeanine LaBeet of Bronx, New York and Surraine Bascome of Jersey City, New Jersey: one grandson, Leo F Harley III of Harrison, New York; five great granddaughters, nine great grandsons and five great great grandchildren; one first cousin, Louise Meza Shepherd.
Elvy was predeceased by her daughter, U.S. Army Sargeant Victoria Susan Keller
