

Beatrice “Micky” J. Adams, 68, of Mitchell passed away July, 11, 2011 at Golden Living Center in Scottsbluff. Funeral services will be held, Friday, July 15, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. at the Mitchell Berean Church with Pastor Scott Mathis officiating. Burial will follow at the Mitchell City Cemetery. Friends may call at Dugan-Kramer Funeral Chapel Thursday, July 14 from 9 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. Memorials may be made to the Ronald McDonald House, Festival of Hope and Prairie Haven Hospice. Micky was born in Battle Creek, Nebraska on October 16, 1942 to John “Jack” M. and Betty A. (Thompson) Urwin. She attended school in eastern Nebraska and her family moved to Scottsbluff in 1956, where she attended Scottsbluff Public Schools. She later received her GED in May of 1984. Micky married Henry C. Adams in August 25, 1958 and they farmed north of Morrill for 29 years. They divorced in 1988. Micky worked for the Morrill Public Schools as head cook for the school year. She worked at Blair Drug in Mitchell until it closed and the Panhandle Coop Station in Mitchell until it closed and then she transferred to the Panhandle Coop Station in Torrington from where she retired in 2000. She also cooked at Poppa’s Café owned by her family in Mitchell. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, embroidering, crocheting, reading and watching her brothers in stockcar racing. She was very active in the #2998 Eagles Auxiliary, holding all positions including president. She was a member of the Mitchell American Legion Auxiliary. Micky enjoyed her two grandchildren and then her three great-granddaughters. She was very proud of her grandson when he enlisted in the U.S. Navy. Micky is survived by daughter, Marian Moss of Mitchell; granddaughter, Katrina Moss of Wright, WY; grandson, Seaman Missile Tech Kyle Moss of Kings Bay, GA; great-granddaughters Shalynn, Bailey and Skyler Moss of Wright, WY; sisters Delilah (Melvin) Brozek of Sargent, NE, Marcella “Marci’ Urwin of Mitchell; brothers, Kenny (Mona) Urwin, David and Loren Urwin all of Mitchell, and numerous nieces and nephews. Micky is preceded in death by her parents, brother Eldon Urwin, Grandmother Francis Thompson and several nephews and a niece.
