Steven DaPonte, age 43 of New Bedford, passed away on Sunday, April 22, 2018 unexpectedly. He was the husband of Ana DaPonte, to whom he had been happily married to for many years.

Born in Providence, a son of the Lucia (Ferreira) DaCosta and the late Antonio DaPonte , he was a longtime New Bedford resident. He attended school in New Bedford and was employed by Baystate Drywall for the last 10 years. Steve loved his family dearly, he was an avid Green Bay Packers and Boston Celtics fan and enjoyed doing word searches and sitting with the family dog, Max.

In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by two children, Aaron and Hailee DaPonte of New Bedford; a brother, Antonio DaPonte and his wife Amy of Chicago; a sister Adrianna Freitas and her husband Antonio of MA; Godparents, Manuel and Adrienne DaPonte and many, many uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and godchildren.

Steven’s services are in the care of WARING-SULLIVAN HOME at DARTMOUTH, 230 Russells Mills Road, Dartmouth. Burial is private. For tributes and online registration: www.waring-sullivan.com
