Mildred Johnston Stikeleather

She was born February 22, 1928, in Iredell County and was the daughter of the late Charles M. and Ollie Anderson Johnston. She was a member of Yadkin Baptist Church and a devoted and faithful homemaker.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Stikeleather, Sr.; a son, Clarence Stikeleather, Jr.; four sisters, Marie Mitchell, Cordie Kanipe, Dorothy Johnston, and Minnie Whitley; and a brother, James Johnston.

She is survived by her daughter, Kathy (Randy) Shaw of Harmony; a special nephew and his wife, Lynn and Dessie Ellis of Stony Point; a special niece and caregiver, Diana Minter of Statesville; a brother, Russell (Cathy) Johnston of Mooresville; and two sisters, Evelyn Hedrick of Statesville and Alice Toungate of Texas.

Funeral service celebrating Mildred’s life will be held 3:00 PM Wednesday, December 10, 2014, at Yadkin Baptist Church with the Rev. Tony Bunton and the Rev. J.B. Parker officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 3:00 PM Wednesday at the church prior to the service.
