Alice M. Johnston

Alice M. (Ingham) Johnston, age 86, of N. Andover, MA formerly of Somerset, MA died peacefully Sunday, March 11, 2012 at the Edgewood Retirement Community in N. Andover, MA. She was the wife of the late Spencer V. Johnston.

Born in Fall River, MA, the daughter of the late Harry and Bertha (Eastwood) Ingham, she was a 1942 graduate of BMC Durfee High School and a member of its’ Reunion Committee. Along with her husband, Mrs. Johnston was the founder and former owner of Fall River Electrical Associates Co. Inc.

Mrs. Johnston was an avid golfer and member of the Fall River Country Club. Other associations of interest included: South Somerset Methodist Church and the Groveland Congregational Church in Groveland, MA. She enjoyed the ocean, gardening, playing the piano and the occasional spirited political debate. Most of all, she loved her family and friends dearly.

Mrs. Johnston is survived by her four children; Dana Johnston and his wife Kara of Somerset, MA, Kathy Cole and her husband Alton of Wrentham, MA, Judy Roberts and her husband David of West Newbury, MA, and Alison Boland of Southampton, MA; seven grandchildren, Dana and Jennie Johnston, Nathan and Kelsey Cole, Bryce Roberts and Elise and Spencer Boland; a brother Milton Ingham of N. Kingston, RI and several nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Alfred Ingham, Harry Ingham and Dorothy Leech.

The family would like to acknowledge the staff of the Edgewood Retirement Community and the Meadows for their loving and compassionate care during the past year.
