Betty Jean Leavine

She was born to the late Ernest and Catherine Byrd and lived in Tampa most of her life. Betty was preceded in death by her loving husband of 74 years, Wallace Eugene Leavine. She was a woman who loved the Lord Jesus and strove to serve him all the days of her life. She was a member of Trinity A.R.P. Presbyterian Church for the past sixty eight years and served in various ministries throughout those years. She was a wonderful loving mother and grandmother known as "Nana" to her grandchildren, whom she loved and adored. Those left to cherish her memories are: three daughters and their spouses Michele (Rick) Dixon, Madlyn Leavine, Gay (Frank) Carter and son Chip (Traci) Leavine; 13 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren, her loving sister Serena (Bub) Harley, and her nieces and nephews, as well as many friends that were like family to her. Earlier in life she enjoyed playing bridge, spending time on the beach, gardening, entertaining and traveling. As her health began to prohibit her from these activities she started hosting "movie night" with friends. Due to Covid, a private service will be held at 11:30am on Wednesday, October 7th at Blount & Curry Funeral Home, Terrace Oaks Chapel located at 12690 N. 56th Street in Temple Terrace. Betty will be laid to rest at Florida National Cemetery next to the love of her life, Wallace.
