Johnnie was born on February 26, 1932 in Vernon, Florida, FL to John and Eliza (Crofton) Parish. She received her bachelor's degree from the University of Tampa and her master's degree from the University of South Florida. Both degrees were in Elementary Education. On May 24, 1952, she married Mark L. Boghich, Jr and they remained married until his death in 1963.
Johnnie had a passion for education as she taught at Henry B. Mitchell Elementary School retiring after 34 years. She was a Bible Study teacher for three ladies classes at Bayshore Baptist Church: the College and Career Class, the Love Class and the Mary Martha Class. She was known for her giving, kind and compassionate spirit and her infectious smile, no matter the situation.
Johnnie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and son, Charles. She is survived by her sons, Mark III (Carolyn) and Alex, grandchildren Marcie (Mike), Sydney and Natalie and eight great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 25 at 5:00 pm at Blount & Curry Funeral Home, 605 S Macdill Ave, Tampa, FL. Visitation will be held on Friday, June 26 at 1:00 pm at First Baptist Church of Tampa, 302 W. Kennedy Blvd, Tampa, FL. followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 1:30 pm.
