Willa Gene Evans

She married James Richard Evans on May 7, 1950 at the Palm Avenue Baptist Church in Tampa. Mr. Evans passed away on March 27, 2009.

Willa Gene was raised in a caring Christian family. She attended church while growing up in Keysville and Lithia. After moving to Tampa, she was baptized in the Hillsborough river near the 40th Street Bridge on the southeast riverbank. She and her husband James became members at the Palm Avenue Baptist Church prior to their marriage. One of her accomplishments was the complete reading of the Bible, Old and New Testament, together with her husband.

Willa is survived by daughter Shirley; and daughter Evon; granddaughter Melissa and grandson Ian.

A graveside service for Willa will be held Tuesday, August 4, 2020 at 11:00 AM Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, Florida.
