

Viola Evelyn Psencik Jezek, a long time Temple resident, passed away at home on November 21, 2015. A service in celebration of her life will be at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home at 3220 S. 31st St., Temple, on Wednesday, November 25, at 2 p.m. with burial immediately following at Bellwood Cemetery. Rev. Ken Ritchie will officiate.
Visitation will be held at Crawford-Bowers on Tuesday, November 24, from 6 to 8 p.m.
Mrs. Jezek was born on August 5, 1922 in Seaton, Texas to Frank and Emma Dukatnik Psencik. She attended Seaton School and was married to Clarence Jezek in Cameron, Texas on July 30, 1942. Their extravagant love was shared with children, grandchildren, extended family and friends. She assisted in family-owned automobile and service station businesses. She was a 50-year member of the SPJST. Her love of Czech music and culture inspired her to visit Zadverice, Moarava in the Czech Republic in 1996 where she met family she had corresponded with for years. Mrs. Jezek was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Temple where she cooked for the MOW program for many years. She was also a member of the DAV and VFW.
She was preceded in death by Clarence, her husband of 65 years, two brothers, Frank A. Psencik and Lee Roy Psencik, and an infant sister, Anna Mae Psencik. She is survived by her sister Lillie Emma Psencik McDonald of Irving, her daughter Nancy and her husband Roger Manoogian, son Larry Jezek, and son Eric Jezek and his wife Fancy, all of Temple. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Kelly Manoogian and his wife, Cindy Toth, of Austin; Erin Jezek of Arlington; Shawn Jezek of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; and Mark Jezek of Lubbock. She is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, friends and her care-givers including Stacy, Terry, Sarah, Erica and Wilma and Scott and White Hospice nurses, Val and Kelly.
Honorary pallbearers are Jensy and Mike Gregory of Irving, Jack and Dorothy Collier of Florence, and Johnny and Diane Lastovica of Salado.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that any memorial gifts be made to the Youth Ministry Program at First Presbyterian Church, 12 West French, Temple, Texas 76501.
