She was the youngest born to the late Ardell Brown Byerly and Olena Coppley Byerly on May 17, 1962 in Davidson County. Libby was warm and welcoming to everyone and never met a stranger. If she had just met you, she would’ve made a connection somehow before leaving. Sometimes it was in who she knew in common with you, a mutual interest, or just her sharing her time and sincere smile.
Libby had a generous spirit. To those she loved, she gave freely with no expectations. She was always willing to listen, giving to those in need, or even taking up a battle for those she cared for. A big priority to Libby was FAMILY. Family wasn’t just those with shared bloodline. It was also close friends that she called family.
If a perfect day for Libby could be described, it would be something like this: sharing time with her family around a table with flowers she grew, food she had prepared and if it wasn’t too much to ask, it could be on the sand of a beach!
Although Libby has lost her courageous battle with cancer, we all can learn from her fight. We must learn to never give up in our desires or in our friends.
Most of all, Libby would want us to remember two things: value the time you spend with those you love and when life gives us challenges, treat them as that, challenges. As she always said, “It’s just another bump in the road”.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her three siblings: Jerry Byerly, Doris Miller and Robert Byerly.
Surviving are her husband of over 32 years, Andy Eddinger and her son, Calep Eddinger, both of the home. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and countless friends who she considered family.
A Celebration Libby’s life will be held at 6 pm Thursday, July 5, 2018 at Thomasville Funeral Home. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the funeral home and other times at the home.
