TSgt McKinley R. Matthews, USAF (Ret)

McKinley Matthews passed away on January 15, 2021 in San Antonio, Texas at the age of 79. McKinley was born on August 26, 1941 to the late Leonard Stevenson and the late Myrtle Irene Matthews in Baltimore, Maryland. He is also preceded in death by his stepfather, Mark Ellis.

McKinley leaves to cherish his memory; wife Sandra K. Ball-Matthews; son Ronald Matthews of San Antonio, Texas; daughter Tanya Nobles (James) of San Antonio, Texas; step daughter Erica Yvette Ball-Winn (Malik) of Dumont, New Jersey; sister Lynette Smothers (Richard) of Baltimore, Maryland; step mother Gloria Stevenson of New York, New York; grandchildren Tashyla and Jarrell Nobles of San Antonio, Texas, Antoine Matthews (Deserae) of Austin, Texas, Chynna and Diamond Matthews of Austin Texas; step grandchildren, Elijah and Jordan Faith Winn of New Jersey; great grandchildren Isaiah Darnell Matthews of Austin, Texas , I’layah Yvonne Rogers and Cam’reon Gerard Rogers of Austin, Texas, Javena Emerald McGill of Austin, Texas; nephews Richard and Marcus Smothers of Baltimore MD; great nephews Cohen Smothers, Mason Smothers of Baltimore MD; cousins Camelia E. Howell of Baltimore, Maryland, Patricia E. Johnson of White Marsh, Maryland, William R. Riley III of Randallstown, Maryland, Renee C. Riley of Ringwood, Texas and Gary and Brenda Grand of Baltimore, Maryland.

A home going service will be Saturday, February 27, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Colonial Funeral Home. Graveside services with Military Honors will be Monday, March 1, 2021 at 2:45 p.m. at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
