Hilda D. Ringgold

Hilda D. Ringgold died December 29, 2010 at Genesis of LaPlata at the age of 94. Born August 15, 1916 in Baltimore, Maryland to the late Francis Wm. Stringer and Emma (Middlekoff) Stringer. Preceded in death by her late husband Ernest Ringgold, Sister Mary Armacost, Sister Dorothy Stringer, Brother Francis Stringer and brother Wilson Stringer. Hilda was the kindest most loving and generous person to her family and friends, yet fiercely tenacious when wronged. She enjoyed crafting, sewing and throwing wonderful Christmas Parties. She was a lover of the many dogs she had through life, but her main love, Ernie, caused sparkle in her eyes every time she looked at him. Survivors include: Nephew Francis Stringer (late wife Dale Stringer) and niece Marsha Merchant and husband George, cousin: Richard Stringer, grand nieces and nephews: 6, great-grand nieces and nephews: 10, and close friends: Anne Stringer and Barbara Wilhelm. Family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 3, 2011 from 2:00 - 4:00 and 6:00 - 8:00 pm at The Huntt Funeral Home, 3035 Old Washington Road, Waldorf, Maryland where funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 4, 2011 at 10:00 am. Interment will be at Druid Ridge Cemetery, Baltimore, Maryland. Pastor Marvin Harris will officiate.
