

Erma A. LaVigne, age 88, of Sterling Heights, passed away on Wednesday, November 3, 2010. She was born on August 8, 1922 in Aloha Township, Michigan, the daughter of Cyril and Emma (nee Rocheleau) VanSlembrouck. Erma was united in marriage to Robert LaVigne in Alverno, Michigan on May 1, 1943. She worked as a Rosie the Riveter during World War II and later worked for 25 years in the executive dining room at the Fisher Body Division of General Motors Technical Center in Warren. She was a member of St. Sylvester Catholic Church in Warren and a member of the Daughters of Isabella at St. Clement Church. She enjoyed crocheting, cooking, baking, her cottage in Aloha and spending time with her grandchildren. She is survived by her daughters, Frances (Jerry) Czapski and Carol (Rick) Zaslona; grandchildren, Debbie, Bob, Dave, Kelly and Becky; and 10 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Robert LaVigne on November 19, 2002. Erma will lie instate at 9 am Saturday at St. Sylvester Church, 11200 Twelve Mile, Warren, followed by a funeral mass at 10 am. Entombment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery, Clinton Township. Services under the direction of D. S. Temrowski Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Seasons Hospice. Please share a memory in her guestbook.
