Born in Sao Miguel, Azores the daughter of the late Joao and Maria (Pontes) Couto she was a longtime resident of Warren.
She immigrated to the United States in her young adulthood and worked at I Shalom Company and Packer and Folder for thirty years. Her greatest joy was raising her family and attending Mass at St. Thomas the Apostle Church. She is survived by two sons, John Ferreira of Warren and Carlos Ferreira and his wife Maria of Sao Miguel; two brothers, Jose and Dennis Couto; one sister, Irene Couto; eight grandchildren, Patricia Ferreira Gargarnte, Kevin L. Ferreira, Marlene Ferreira Medeiros, Stephanie Ferreira, Antonino Ferreira, Carlos Ferreira, Miguel Ferreira and six great grandchildren, Jake Gargarnte, Owen Gargarnte, Adriana Medeiros, Lukas Medeiros, Margarida Ferreira and Tiago Ferreira. She was predeceased by her son Jose A. Ferreira and brother Manuel Couto and granddaughter Melissa Ferreira.
