Asa proudly served in the United States Army as a Marksman. He was bestowed a National Defense Service Medal for his dedication to his country. To provide for his family, Asa worked for Abell & Son for forty years. When able, Asa could always be found piddling around in his shop, enjoying time outdoors or camping.
Asa leaves to cherish his beautiful memory his wife of 49 years, Catherine Castille Lejeune; his daughters, Pamela Lejeune Price and her husband, Warren, and Amanda Lejeune Fruge and her husband, Brad; his son, Jason Paul Lejeune and his wife, Zorabel; his grandchildren, Leah and Ethan Price, Haleigh, Conner, and Madisyn Fruge; and brothers, Leroy Lejeune and his wife, Lela Mae, and Donald Lejeune and his wife, Peggy.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Asa and Rena Lejeune; brothers, Hilman, Gibson, and Allen Lejeune; and sister, Mary Jane Hollier.
Those honored to be pallbearers will be Warren Price, Brad Fruge, Kevin Lejeune, Chad Lejeune, Gibson "Buck" Lejeune, and Hunter Dasch. Honorary pallbearers will be Ethan Price and Conner Fruge.
The family requests that a time of visitation be observed on Friday, May 13, 2022 from 4pm until 9pm with a rosary being prayed at 6:30pm at J.E. Hixson & Sons Funeral Home in Welsh. Visitation will resume on Saturday, May 14, 2022 at 8am at the funeral home until time of dismissal at 9:30am. A funeral service will be held for Asa on Saturday, May 14, 2022 at 10am at Our Lady of Seven Dolors in Welsh. Following services, Asa will be laid to rest in the Bon Pasteur Cemetery also in Welsh.
