Murasso, Jr., 87, beloved husband of Geraldine “Gerry” (Querido) Murasso, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 23, 2017 with his wife, son and daughter by his side at his home in Glastonbury. He was able to celebrate his 61st wedding anniversary prior to his passing. He was born in Hartford on April 21, 1930, son of the late Alphonse J. Murasso and Antonetta (D’Cristoforo) Murasso. Al graduated from Bulkeley High School in 1948, voted the most lovable, which he was his entire life. He was also captain of the football team. Al served proudly in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, stationed in Iceland. Al owned the neighborhood Vanity Cleaners in the South End of Hartford and hosted an annual Christmas party for his customers and friends. He had a rich full life; vacationing with the Murasso family at their Westbrook cottage; visiting his wife’s family in New Bedford, MA; enjoying many trips to his Murasso cousins in Agawam, MA; vacationing with his friends to Aruba; golf trips in Cape Cod with his golfing buddies; visiting with the Dineen family in Glen Lake, NY and attending the annual Bulkeley High School reunions with his childhood friends and their wives. Al was a member of the East Glastonbury Fish & Game Club, helping and cooking for their Game Dinners. He played semi-professional football in Hartford and was a fan of the New York Giants and New York Yankees. He enjoyed western movies, especially John Wayne. Al was essentially a family man; having holiday dinners and spending time with them. Al was famous for his Shrimp ala Murasso, pizza and Easter Bread. In addition to his parents, Al was predeceased by his brothers and their wives, Jerry and Doris, Sal and Rose, Ralph and Mary and Nick and Ann. Al will be forever missed by his loving wife Gerry; his two devoted children, Paul Murasso and Ann Dineen and husband Kevin and his six adored grandchildren, Hannah, Emma, William and Declan Dineen and Taryn and Cameron Murasso. He also leaves his brothers and sisters-in-law, David and Betty Querido and Robert and Norma Querido, as well as several nieces and nephews. The family is sincerely grateful for the loving care provided by Ann Marie Sweeney and neighbor, Annette Benker.
