She was a long time resident of Ewing Township, served as a past president of Alfred Reed elementary PTA and the West Trenton Garden Club and was a member of the Bethel Lutheran Church serving as a council member. After her husband’s retirement Betty resided at Cedar Glen Lakes in Whiting for 29 years serving several terms on their board. She was also president of their garden club and a member of the Cedar Chips. Betty enjoyed travel and she visited 20 countries with her husband.
Betty was preceded in death by Clayton Shotwell, her husband of 58 years and her son Carl. She is survived by her son Jeffrey and his wife Roni, her granddaughters, Carla, Megan and Gillian and 3 great grandchildren.
Friends may call on Thursday 11am until the Services begin at 1pm from the Anderson & Campbell Funeral Home 115 Lacey Rd. Whiting. Committal will follow at the Brig Gen Wm C Doyle NJ Veterans Cemetery, Wrightstown.
In lieu of flowers the family respectfully request considering a donation to the Popcorn Park Zoo, a small non profit sanctuary zoo, 1 Humane Way, Forked River, NJ 08731. Betty loved animals and enjoyed visiting this zoo with her granddaughters.
