Al and Barb and family have made me a part of their family for many years. Such a sweet,❤. Loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend. He loved having his girls and family around. He would give Barb a compliment, most everyday.
Memories will be carried on always. Love you all.💞👃

Today we honored the legacy of A gentle soul that lived for his family. Pop Pop was more of father to me than a grandfather and he called me his daughter.

Some of my fondest memories of him was as a little girl sitting with him in his desk chair while he worked, back to back with my legs dangling out of the back of his chair. When he proudly took me to school on my 1st day of kindergarten.
Going to the donut shop on Saturday mornings, family picnics at lakes park, and bicycling on the 2 seater bike.

He was loved by his customers on his pool route and 1 year sold over 200 boxes of Girl Scout cookies for me. I laugh at the thought of him trying to figure out who bought what and distributing them.

The most important person in his life was his wife of 62 years He adored my grandmother and there wasn’t a day he didn’t dote on her beauty and profess his love to her.

Our family was a mix of faiths, we respected and celebrated the beliefs and traditions of each. His wishes of laying him to rest in his Jewish tradition were honored today.

Our family was blessed to have him and it’s with great sadness to say goodbye but find comfort in knowing he’s in a better place. Pop Pop will be greatly missed. Rest In Peace knowing you will always be dear to our hearts and never forgotten.

So many funny memories come to mind when we think of Allen. Two of them in particular, involve his dentures. One, when he sneezed out the window of his car and they flew out on the highway. The other was when we were celebrating his birthday at granny’s house and he went to blow out the candles and his teeth flew out and landed on the cake. Of course everyone howled at this sight and Allen was howling too! Whenever Allen was around he would have us all smiling or laughing. Allen would give all he had if he knew you were in need. Kind, considerate, forgiving and a shining light in a sometimes unkind world. I would doubt that you could find even one person that would have a negative thing to say about him. We could all take a lesson from the life that Allen lived. So now, we must say goodbye. It is never easy. It breaks our hearts and saddens our spirits. But a life well lived is never forgotten. We will remember Allen with much love in our hearts. What better legacy can someone leave their family. Our lives are in God’s hands. To our dear family, know that we are with you at this sad time. Love to all, Pat and Barry 💔
