

George Michael Williams, Jr., 69, of Wilmington, NC, passed away on Monday, May 4, 2015, at Lower Cape Fear Hospice & Life Care Center. He was born in Henderson, NV, on November 27, 1945, son of the late George Michael Williams and Jean Perry Williams. He was a Vietnam Era Veteran of the United States Navy, serving on the USS Navy Submarine, Skipjack. He was an assistant manager with Walmart stores for twenty years and a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and sailing his boat, the Chardonney. Surviving is his wife of forty-two years, Patricia Burns Williams; a daughter, Amy Milcendeau (Patrick); four sons, George Michael Williams, III (Kristin), John Phillip Williams (Stacey), Christopher Scott Williams (Christina), and Patrick Brian Williams (Ashlee); fifteen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mary Mason (Stan), Suzanne Jackson (Gene), and Alice Byrd; and one brother, Christopher Williams. Three brothers preceded him in death, Walter Williams, Jerome Williams, and Thomas Williams. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm Thursday, May 7, 2015, at Andrews Mortuary Valley Chapel, 4108 S. College Road, Wilmington. A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, May 8, 2015, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 6650 Carolina Beach Road, Wilmington, with Rev. John McGee officiating. Military honors will be accorded. Memorial gifts in lieu of flowers may be made to the American Cancer Society.
