Dear Uncle Joe, Cousins Nancy, Sharon, Susan, David, Rick and Families. My sincere condolences to all of you on the loss of Shirley—wife, mother and grandmother.
I remember my Aunt Shirley as warm, hospitable, and quick to laugh. I know that she had many skills and was always very active in her community. But most notably, I remember how she took a keen interest and joy in her family, welcoming each new member and following the growth of all with pride, enthusiasm and caring. With love, and on behalf of the Swan family, Kleis

My aunt Shirley was a good woman, who always took a genuine interest in what her nieces and nephews were doing, and was always happy to see us. Like our grandmother and her mother, she suffered a number of health issues, but never let them stop her from pursuing the many creative things she was so good at. I am so thankful that I had the chance to see her on a trip with my husband and father three years ago. I will remember her laugh, her generosity and her soft-spoken strength.

As a youngster I connected the Kipling Music Festival with Shirley Kovach as well as a couple other regular organizers. In later years our paths crossed with Susan and Danny and their family. Shirley was always interested in what was going on in our lives and had a good sense of humor. Even in the last year when our paths crossed again through healthcare she was keen to chat and met hurdles head on. She was proud of her family and their many accomplishments. Sympathy to you all on the big loss you will be feeling.
