Ruth was the younger of two children born to George and Cdell Wadsack on September 7, 1924 in Everton, Arkansas. She lived in Arkansas until the family relocated to Yakima in the mid-1940s.
In 1945, Ruth met Jim. They were married six months later on June 5, 1946, at St. Joseph’s Church in Yakima. They were together for nearly 56 years, until Jim’s death in 2002. In the intervening years, Ruth and Jim raised six children. As if not busy enough, they bought a farm in the Moxee area in 1964, growing apples, and raising a variety of farm animals and pets. Ruth also found the time to help harvest the apple crop in the fall.
Ruth enjoyed flowers and gardening. She was particularly adept at growing geraniums and tomatoes. She was an excellent cook and had many popular dishes. Her apple pie, strawberry shortcake and peach cobbler were frequent requests. Ruth enjoyed family trips to Westport and to Reno in later years. She enjoyed picnics and family gatherings.
Ruth is preceded in death by husband Jim, sons Ron and Den, parents George and Cdell Wadsack, parents-in-law Charles and Agnes Sellers, brother Troy Wadsack, and grandchildren, Jason and Stephanie. She is survived by four children, Dick, Ken and wife Olga, daughter Patty Ferguson and husband Cary, all in the Yakima area; Joe and wife Jody, and daughter-in-law Claire, who reside in the Spokane-Colville area, as well as seven grandchildren, Ron & Angie Sellers, Steve & Teri Sellers, Brian Sellers, Craig Sellers, Kevin & Julie Sellers, Jesse & Colby Ferguson along with five great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will take place at Terrace Heights Memorial Park, located at 2807 Terrace Heights Drive, on Saturday, July 14 at 11:30 am. A reception will follow.
